Permaculture Presentation

Permaculture presentation

I was at Eco-Village Moldova where I shared for one hour my experience and discoveries of Permaculture at my own home garden. I was happy to answer to all questions of this subject. I love working in collaboration with nature, especially because this can make our life self-sufficient and sustainable.

SPRING VIEW

Spring view of Permaculture garden always will be looking more beautiful and full of nature. The difference is easy to recognize. My garden is full of organic diversity, fruit trees, bushes, herbs also all soil is covered with straw that imitates natural environment. On the left side, there is open ground visible, agricultural desert as I call it today. This is the big difference of Permaculture garden and traditionally managed garden. We know that only in a Permaculture garden biological life and fertile soil will be better and better every year, that is the natural way and the only way to care about our natural world.

VIEW FROM WINDOW IN SPRINGTIME

View from window in springtime when I grow young plants in the box. Seeds that I use here are my own, they are organic and heirloom, I use only this kind of seeds because they are stronger and can make seeds every year. Young plants after one month and a half are ready to be replanted in the garden, I grow in the box only a few species of vegetable plants, most of the seeds I sow directly in the garden soil, that is the best way of course only if species of plants are heirloom.

SPRING VIEW OF THE SOUTH SIDE GARDEN

Spring view of south side of the garden, amazing diversity design offers only Permaculture, here we can see fruit trees, bushes, flowers and plants growing together. This combination makes the garden to look reach and natural, healthy and peaceful, a corner of heaven or Eden garden is how people describe it. To create a garden like this you need 5 years of active managing, working in harmony and with passion. In the next picture, you will see this place how it looks in summer.

TOMATOES PLANT

Most of my vegetables are grown in this way, the soil is covered with mulch, in the picture we can see tomatoes plants, they grow without plowing, cultivation, once a week irrigation, (or no irrigation needed if there is raining at least once a week). Only in springtime, I replant the tomatoes plants in the soil, loosening only a small area where roots will grow, then I cover the soil with straw. There are more tricks and tips that you can learn from me here at my place, where I can also host, I organize every month a workshop where people can learn in practice.

POTATOES PLANT

PREPARING THE SOIL

Permaculture garden in springtime, when I start preparing the soil for new seeds that will grow for starting the season. We can see their straw bale, I use straws every spring and autumn for mulching young plants, bushes, trees. Mulching also helps to keep humidity in the soil, later when mulch will decompose that gives food to macro and microorganism from the soil. Springtime is the most important time of the year when I plan and organize myself where to plant young plants.

SUMMER VIEW

Summer view of south side of the garden, amazing diversity design offers only Permaculture. Here we can see fruit trees, bushes, flowers and plants growing together. This combination makes the garden to look reach and natural, healthy and peaceful, a corner of heaven or Eden is how people describe it. To create a garden like this you need 5 years of active managing, working in harmony and with passion. Summertime is like a festival of nature and most productive time of the year, there are a lot of fruits, berries, and herbs for infusion.
